Re: Garmin Depth display readout question

Believe it flashes when it has lost "bottom lock" for some reason.

Re: Modifications to our R21EC, Emcourt

Not sure about Garmin but with a Raymarine dome, you can get shorter cables if you order them with the dome. Less to coil up. Don't cut it, it will change characteristics of the radar not to mention the splicing/connector problems...

Re: 2010 PNW Rendezvous - Sep 10-12, 2010

C-Brats take notice, this is a great way to do a CBGT as well. Guess we're just not as well organized but somehow get the job done. We don't have nearly 50 boats at our gatherings either.... the volume makes a big difference!

You Nuts have fun, hope the weather cooperates.

Re: Nordic Tugs

Thanks Marc, I stand (or rather sit  ) corrected. We're just glad that anyone in the marine industry is still in business!

Re: Nordic Tugs

It is very sad. Lots of discussion on the Brats site about it. SeaSport has been taken over by the bank, fortunately Triton, who has the C-Dory, Skagit Orca, Arima and TomCat molds bought from Fluid Marine escaped because of their different financing. They are still building those boats. We wish the...

Re: Fresh Water Fill problem

Sparky, eliminate Step 1 and do the others.

Have fun in Seattle! Just keep Joe under control, there used to be submarines out there!

Re: Bilge pump on the R21 (Simple to service it)

Have similar pumps on my TC255 but RULE 1100's. Mine are difficult to reach but have long enough wires to bring up out of each sponson (about 2 1/2' down) to work on. One thing you've got to be careful of is the "automatic function" When out of the base bracket, tipping it can cause it to ...

Re: Garmin -- "Dangerous Hazard"

Barry, there's a Garmin Service Advisory in the tech section that says talks about this. Says that if you are using the auto course function in the autopilot, it may take you over charted hazards which will, in advance, sound a warning. I assume this may happen even if you aren't there yet. Take a l...

Re: R25/R27 clearance

Thanks Charles. I have quite a lot of room under the roof, the supports were cut out in the middle to allow for the TC with the radar on top to go up quite high. I've had water 2' over the top of the pier during ERNESTO in 2006 and ISABEL in 2003. Didn't have the lift then but If I had, I would have...

R25/R27 clearance

Thinking of trading the Tomcat TC255 for a Ranger of some variety. I have a covered boathouse with with limited clearance over the lift. Does any one know what the bridge clearance is with the mast/radar/etc up (I can lower an antenna whip) for the R25/R27? Draft is a consideration also but it looks...

Re: Points North - Cruising on your Ranger Tug

And remember Lindsay's Law:

WHEN THE DRAFT OF YOUR VESSEL EXCEEDS THE DEPTH OF THE WATER, YOU ARE MOST ASSUREDLY AGROUND!

Joe, the link didn't come up right but I've seen the pictures. I was the duty officer the night the USS GUITARRO sank next to the pier at Mare Island... :?
