Another Newbie - The deed is done!

Just agreed after a visit to the Miami Boat Show to purchase a new R-27 OB. Handing over the deposit this Wednesday. She will be Laureen Green with a white boot stripe and the name we have decided on is Callisto. If all goes according to plan, she should be ready for delivery in September, hopefully after hurricane season! We were sailors for 25 years (boatless now for 2) and moving to power will be a bit of a change, but most sailors will admit that when voyaging they are probably using the engine three-fourths of the time anyway ;) Lots to do before we take possession the boat, but we're really ready to get out on the water and enjoy cruising once again in South Florida and points beyond. We'll be looking to moor Callisto here in the Venice/Englewood area and meeting other Ranger Tug owners in the region.

Welcome aboard to this great community of boaters. Waiting 7 more months after 2 years will go by in a breeze.

Congratulations and welcome to the Ranger Tug family!
We got out new-to-us R25sc last September, and then had to put it away for winter. Waiting is hard, but spending the time at preparing gear, reviewing skills, and gleaning all the useful knowledge from the other helpful boaters here on Tugnuts makes the time go by. Prep time well spent towards feeling ready to go when we do get back on the water. Enjoy the process.

Congratulations from another newbie. We made a deal on 1/31/2018 at the Seattle Boat Show and should be getting her on 3/19/2018 directly from the factory, just in time for the first day of spring. Ours will be Blue with a red stripe. Can't wait. Our boat name is undecided.

Congrats! We just closed today on our R27 OB. Feel sorry you have to wait so long for delivery. But good thing come to those who wait I guess.

Yes it seems like a long time until Sept, but I think it will fly by pretty quickly, as time tends to do when you're retired like we are. In the meantime, we can get our water fixes satisfied on our Hurricane tandem kayak. Lots of creeks and bays to explore around here, and the water is getting warmer every day. Echobay, our last sailboat was Maine built and navy blue. She was beautiful, but really not a great color for down here in the subtropics. If we lived in the NW, blue or hunter green would have been our choice. Your boat will be sharp with that red stripe.
