I need to replace my oil filter Part # 165000-69520 on my R25 with the Yanmar 150 hp engine. The Yanmar Service manual specifically states that three O-rings should be replaced on the filter case's stem. See photo.

However, the box that the filter comes in has just the large O-ring that installs at the top and a small copper washer! The two small O-rings are not supplied in the box packaging!

Am I missing something here ?

Is the Yanmar Service manual out of date (downloaded from Yanmar's web site per Andrew Custis's posting under Technical Manuals forum) ?

Is it unnecessary to replace the two small O-rings ?

What have other DIY oil/filter change people done ?

Thanks.... 🙂

I've been waiting for the obvious, someone to mention to you to post this on "Ask The Factory" for Andrew to address... Apparently, I am the obvious...
