FELL MOB install

Postby bradlail on Wed Nov 07, 2018 9:06 pm

I am new to the forum and a new 2016 Cutwater 28 owner. In fact, this is my first post. I would like to install the FELL MOB device. I have ordered the correct cable from VP and I think I understand how the connection will work between MOB, HCU and EKey. I am stumped on 2 issues. First is there enough room behind the helm dash for the MOB antenna or would it be necessary to add external antenna? Second, my vessel has a 2nd cockpit station. I cannot get clarity from FELL or VP if just one HUB at the Ekey/HCU at the helm would work if the cockpit station were engaged. If anyone has any experience with this install I would love to hear from you!

No experience installing one but I would assume that if you can start and shutdown the engine from either station then one would be enough. In other words if you can shut off the engine from one station even though you started it from the other and visa versa then one would be enough.

I mounted one on my 2013 CW28. The antenna gets deflected a little when I close the cabinet door in the head but not enough to worry about. As for reception it works well. I have not tested it with the cockpit station engaged. That’s a good question.
