Ice Maker and Water Pump Design

So researching threads regarding water to the ice maker. So it appears the water pump needs to stay on for the hours it takes to make ice. Does this create a problem with keeping pressure on the water system? We had been turning the water pump on and off after every use .
Im wondering if RT could jump in here on this question, also given the inconvenient location of the water pump switch, in addition to the ice makers need for constant water; that the design is such to allow for constant water pressure in the system without any problems ??

We don't have an ice maker, but we leave the water pressure switch on as long as we are on the boat, and have never had a problem. We turn it off when leaving the boat just in case something comes loose when we wouldn't be around to take care of it.

Well that’s good to hear. I think we’ll adopt that philosophy.
We had rented an RV to go to the Annapolis Boat Show about a year ago and the water pump on RVs was stressed to turn off, as well.
My suspicion is turning the water pump on and off too frequently may actually stress the system more by the numerous pressuring cycles.
