Garmin Bluechart Mobile App - Where are you?

What's on your mind? Anything generic goes here.

I was looking for the same and don't think it is available. The only method I could see is to find where you want the waypoint and then touch the screen.

Anyone having recent issues logging on to Active Captain through Blue Charts? When I turn on Blue Charts I get a message to log into AC and when I try I get a message about unable to connect to server. I know I am on the Internet because I can go on google etc.

It's an issue with Garmin. From the Active Captain Facebook group on Saturday:

Jeffrey Siegel: It started happening to me last night too. It's not our server - I up'd the logging we're doing but the request is never getting to us. I wrote a Garmin engineer about it at 10 pm last night. I doubt much will happen before Monday.

Yes. I get the same message. On the Active Captain forum Jeff had left a message that it was a Garmin issue.

Needless to say, they found it.

This is the marine group's first iOS app - there are some growing pains and of course, the first problem happens on a Friday evening...

I have the same request. Manual entry of waypoint and coordinates.

Also needed...

Route construction from pick list of existing waypoints (no chart involved).

Best if BCM can support waypoint/route management via chart AND manual edit/pick lists.

I suspect that Garmin may want to leave a lot of bells an whistles out of the iPad version. Think about it, if the iPad did everything the chart plotter did, who would buy the chart plotter? What I find most annoying about the Garmin GPS is that it lacks a "recently found" menu like the road map GPS has. This is quite annoying when you want to jump back to a recent place that you don't necessarily want to setup as a waypoint.

I'm working on getting permission for it.

Howdy AC. How goes the permission request for the Garmin blessed Ubiquiti configuration?

I'm currently unable to provide it. As soon as their product ships, they expect the configuration to become public.

It's quite worth drooling over the newly announced quatix:

I had no idea that was coming...

Can you share if Garmin has added custom firmware to the Ubiquiti? Or is this just a matter of properly configuring a stock Ubiquiti? Thanks much.

There is nothing else I'm going to comment on about Garmin networking unless it is public. I'm sorry.

Pretty spendy to say the least... could buy a used iPad for the price shown at https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=120680&ra=true ...and it's still awaiting FCC certification!

Yeah but strapping an iPad on your wrist would be very cumbersome.

I'm quite interested to see what the street price is. The watch looks to be the same as the Fenix with boating firmware...

Nah.... hang an iPad mini around your neck... Seriously though, it does and looks a very cool device with LOTS of features. I like the remote auto pilot feature, and wonder if it will work just like the remote auto pilot device that Ranger Tug provides its customers with when they purchase the Garmin Auto Pilot along with a new boat ? ...but suspect it means another $200 for the Garmin's Wi-Fi device...
