I thought I caught a glimpse of a Banner/Ads the other week, but for some weird reason I don't see it anywhere today using the following

1) Apple Safari browser version 8.0.2 (10600.3.5) on an Apple iMac13,2 (27-inch late 2012) running Yosemite 10.10.2 Build 14C68k

2) Apple MacBookPro8,3 running the same software as in 1).

Now on my Apple iPhone 6+ (running iOS 8.1.1 Build 12B436) using Safari I am seeing banners at the bottom of the web pages. For example...

...and if I goto to the TugNuts Home page on the iPhone I do see a banner at the bottom. It however, I find that it changes periodically. This may explain why I don't always see your banner on the iPhone.

The TugNuts home page being displayed on my iPhone.

No matter, on my computers using Safari as described above, I'm not seeing any Banner-Ads at all.

Bruce ?????

Thanks.

Using Firefox Version 33.1.1 on my computers I do see the banner at bottom of the web page... and the banners do change as I navigate the various posts and forums.

My MacBook Air using all the latest updates and Safari with all the latest updates sees the banners fine. And yes the ads do rotate.

I have not tried to find a way to strip ads from web pages on the Mac, but there are several apps that strip ads on Windows,Chrome and Firefox browsers. Maybe you have an app that does this? Just a thought.

Thanks Walldog.... 🙂

I did have a Safari Extension "AdBlock 2.13.2" installed. If you want to install this AdBlock for Safari goto https://extensions.apple.com

I disabled it and now the Ad Banner at the bottom of the pages does display. It's good to know the AdBlock works properly. I was not considering those Banners to be categorized as Advertisements so did not go looking for what Safari Extensions I had installed. As soon as I disabled (which is easy to do by unchecking the "Enable AdBlock" box) the AdBlock Kathy's Custom Burgees Advertisement banner displayed. 😱

Your 'thought' was spot on... good thinking. 🙂

Walldog: BTW... if you want to block an Ad on your current Safari page use a right-click to display the option to get rid of the Ads... shown below.

Barry,

Thanks for the Ad Block link. I do have some web pages that have very annoying ads. The banners on this site are relevant and unobtrusive. Glad you figured out your "problem".
