2010 PNW Rendezvous - Sep 10-12, 2010

Postby Karma on Mon Sep 14, 2009 9:19 am

I still cannot get over the turnout that we had here in Bremerton this year. 32 vessels in attendance on Saturday afternoon! The trip under the bridge was a "trip" indeed. Laurie on the Laurie Ann likened it to "herding cats". We pulled it off and got a great shot of 22 tugs all in formation!

As all of you departed, it was very sad to watch you leave. We currently still have four vessels here this morning; Zuma, Sporty II, Lucky Fin, and Solitude.

The date for the 2010 rendezvous will be September 10th through the 12th. We will once again have it at the Bremerton Marina. I have already reserved the breakwater as well as what ever numbers of slips that we will need. The goal for 2010 is 50 vessels! We already have four boats that have given a tentative goal to attend.

For 2010 there will be a participation fee of $10.00 per vessel. This will cover Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday as well as dinner on Saturday. Along with this very modest fee, each vessel will once again have to cover their own moorage fees. The marina has once again given us the "break water" rate on the slips.

Thanks to all of you who attended! It was a great pleasure meeting each and everyone of you!

David,

What an AWESOME event! Thanks to you and Maureen for all of the tireless work you both did! Please make it 5 boats confirmed for 2010 as Michelle and I have already blocked the schedule to spend time with our fellow tug nutters!

Be safe in your travels and look forward to seeing you soon.

I really wish we were able to attend.... Maybe next year when I have my own R-21...... the trip would have been worth it just to see that great cockpit enclosure on the red R-21ec...can I get some info on who made it and how much etc...

A HUGE Thanks TugNuts member, markm (Mark Twain) for allowing me and the missus to check out his R-21 in Spokane Valley yesterday...sort of a "mini" Rendezvous... now I really want one (Sold my current boat on Friday...no excuses now)

Vicki and I join in thanking David and Maureen for all their efforts, as well as the tremendous participation of the Ranger factory team. It was a wonderful event. We'll always remember the sheer joy of the folks who came to the rendezvous thinking about a Ranger Tug, falling in love, doing the deal, and then celebrating their decision with scores of happy owners partying on the pier. Sweet.

It was great meeting everyone, seeing their boats, hearing their stories. We will forever feel part of a distributed fleet of kindred spirits.

We're moored up in Poulsbo with plenty of room on the docks. Hope some of you folks in Bremerton stop by!

Cheers,

Bruce

Maureen and I would like to thank each and everyone of you for allowing us to horn in on the "PNW Rendezvous". We had such a wonderful time and made such great friends! We are sorry that we could not get to know each and everyone of you as well as some of the folks that we did. Then again, there is next year!

Moondance and Solitude just departed Poulsbo at 11:15 am on Tuesday. As we watch Bruce and Vicki pull away from us while they head home, it brings a bit of sadness. Being the last one out, we had to watch each of you leave for points around the sound and beyond. It was like watching your newly formed family go off on their own.

Thank you to Jeff, Andrew, John, Jim, and Dave (and anyone else that I missed from the Ranger Tug factory family) for all that they did. Jeff shot me a PM to say how surprised Dave Livingston was with the turnout. Jeff and the team at Ranger Tugs would like to show their gratitude to all of the Ranger Tug owners by putting up $500.00 toward the expenses of the 2010 event! This should absolve the Ranger Tug Owners of the participation fee. They have also stepped forward with prizes and giveaways.

Assisting with the planning of the 2010 event will be Maureen and myself along with Bruce and Vicki of Moondance as well as Jeff and Andrew.

We already have nine vessels that have added their names to the list of Attendees. Our goal is for fifty vessels in 2010! I will keep everyone posted through out the year as to event plans, schedules, etc.

Again, thank you to each of you for your PNW hospitality!

Add LAXEY to your list of attendees for the 2010 GTG. We will stay longer than we did this year.... so long as my Autopilot stops sending me in circles. ;) On this matter I've contacted the Garmin Tech Help (called 800-800-1020 and selected Autopilot product option) to get them involved. Their engineers are reviewing and will get back to me.

Include the Harbor Ranger on the 2010 list. Who would want to miss the greatest party of Ranger Tugs. My computer mouse is sitting on top of its' new Rendezvous pad so I'll be looking at Solitude all year long and thanking you,David and Maureen for all you did for us. You two know how to throw one heck of a party. A big thanks also to Bob and Nita for your daily generosity of Margaritas and other delicious treats. And thanks to everyone else for their contributions and good conversations about RTs and other things. A hundred boats! Wow, that would be something. What a procession that will make under the Manette Bridge. Till next year, Gary and Rosalie

We lucked out and were joined in Poulsbo by Solitude and Lucky Fin, and their respective crews. We tied up in adjacent slips and had a wonderful happy hour (make that happy hours) before heading to town for wood fired pizza and more wine. Lucky Fin headed back to Bremerton, and Moondance and Solitude cruised back to Seattle together. A great way to extend the rendezvous bliss.

We're in for 2010!

Cheers,

Bruce
