Back on page 5 Nita from Nellie II suggested CRAFTS. This idea got Lynne all excited. Lynne decorates hen eggs usually as Christmas Tree decorations -- she has been doing this for 30 years and they are all around the world. She sells them for under $20.If you have a small photo of your boat (business card?) or your grandchild or ??, bring it to Bremerton and Lynne can do an egg for you. You won't get it in Bremerton -- at least this year!

If you want one delivered in Bremerton, you can contact Lynne direct (not through me -- I'm a senile senior!).

For those of you planning to attend the rendezvous and stay at the Hampton Inn, the Inn is now fully booked for that weekend. If you have reservations, you are in good shape. If you don't, there is a brand new Fairfield Inn just a block away. If you are planning to attend, and need a room, please let me know. I can get you a room for $83.00 per night plus tax. This is $26.00 below the rack rate.

We will need to book these rooms as soon as possible as there is a big Navy function in town that weekend.

It now looks like the Laurie Ann will no longer be "tugless" at the Rendezvous. We will NOT be needing a reservation at the Hampton Inn after all and will be joining all of you with our boat. Due to a variety of circumstances, we've decided to stay in the PNW this summer and spend July and August boating to points up north. Probably as far as Desolation but not as far as Alaska. So add our boat to the many attending . . . . how many will be in attendance now?

John and Laurie - Although I know you were excited with the prospects of finishing "the loop" this year, we are excited that your plans have changed and look forward to seeing you this summer in the PNW. I don't know the total count for the Rendezvous, but I am sure as soon as Dave is back from Hawaii on business he will post an update and change your reservation at the Hampton to a reservation on the Laurie Ann. Talk to you soon!

Yeaaaaaa!!!!!!! The Laurie Ann will be at the Rendezvous!!!!! Yeaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!! As I am sitting here in Honolulu awaiting my red eye back to the mainland, my thoughts turn to the rendezvous! John and Laurie bump the number up to 48 vessels planning to attend. Life is so much easier on the water!

This past weeks half way there cruise was such great fun. We had eight vessels attend. We met on Friday at Shilshole Bay Marina. Saturday morning we all got to experience the "big" lock! With no experience, we all made it through without a hitch. The weather was great! The sun shone all day Saturday as we cruised the "lakes".

The ride home on Sunday was very bumpy with the waves breaking over the bow every two to three seconds. Karma just kept plugging along with not a care in the world! What a great boat built by a bunch of great people!

Unfortunately, we will not be in the PNW this weekend as I forgot to buy Maureen a airline ticket...... how could that be???? Oh well, it will be a weekend on Lake Mead on our Boston Whaler.

As the t-shirts all say "life is good"!

Many of you that have signed up for the 2nd Annual Ranger Tugs Owners Rendezvous in Bremerton, also indicated a desire to attend the Diesel Workshop. With that in mind, I have bad news....... we will be unable to provide a diesel workshop at the seminar. However, Yanmar and Cummins will both be at the rendezvous to answer any questions that owners may have. Both manufacturers do not believe it will benefit anyone if they do not have a motor to teach hands on experience with.

The good news is, Ranger Tugs and Yanmar will sponsor a seminar at the Yanmar office where they have a classroom with an engine set up. The date for this seminar has not yet been established.

Once we have times available for when the Yanmar Folks will be at the rendezvous, we will post a sign up for owners. This will give you the opportunity to have the Yanamar or Cummins rep on your boat to answer your questions. Please though, allow other owners to attend your session as they may have the same questions. An example of this would be, I personally would like to know how to change my fuel filters. I will provide Yanmar with the equipment needed as well as replacement filters if they will show me how to do it. For this exercise, we could have six or eight others gathered around watching and observing.

Andrew is currently working with other manufacturers to have their representatives present also. If you have any suggestion as to a manufacturer that you would like to see in attendance, please post it here. Garmin is a give me. WE ALL want them there. How about Nova Kool? Are you operating your refrigeration to its fullest potential? Bolton Stainless? Is there a stainless steel item you would like to have made for your vessel? I am not sure if we can get these folks, but let your imagination run wild.......

MER does on a regular schedule offer diesel classes at their facility in Seattle. If you cannot make the rendezvous or miss the instruction call the MER office and sign up for a class. The class is a generic diesel class meaning not brand specific.

Our plans are starting to firm up for the summer. At this point it looks like we will be able to leave Texas for cooler climates in July, August and September. Please put Willie (Wilma), Jake and I down as a definite maybe. We plan to be in the PNW for most of August and September. Making the Rendezvous and then working our way back South afterwards. Looking forward to seeing the R27.

Poppy's Legacy has now joined in with the group for the 2010 Rendezvous! With the addition of their vessel we are now up to 51! Just over halfway to our goal of 100!

We have "renamed" the event to the "Ranger Tug Fest 2010".

As the number of vessels grow, we are going to have to do a considerable more amount of planning. Mainly in the area of getting all vessels secured in the same area of the marina. The marina has assured us that they will get every last boat in that shows up, we are just going to have to assign slips to the R-29's. This will insure that we maximize on space. Also we will ask that you not lower your dinghy from the swim platform until we have secured a vessel behind you. (this would be those of you tied on the break water).

As you approach the marina, we will ask that you call in on Channel 71 hailing "Karma". We may ask that you stand off temporarily as we assist in securing another vessel. Once you are in and secure, you will need to proceed to the "tent" to sign in with Maureen and Laurie. At that time, they will present you with your name tags and welcome gift. It is important that we have everyone's name on your vessel so we can make sure we have a name tag for everyone.

The marina is going to supply us with 50 amp splitters so everyone that wants electric can get electric.

Again, the R-29's will be assigned slips while the R-25's and R-21's will secure to the break water wall as they come in. If you or someone has a disability that would make it easier on you to be close to the tent, please send me a PM and we will secure you a location next to or as close to the tent as possible.

Thanks to everyone for making this such a great event!!!!
