Galvanic Isolator

Postby Bosn Mate on Sat Dec 29, 2018 3:20 pm

Good Afternoon:

I am going to install a galvanic isolator and have the following questions:

1. Does Ranger Tugs use the Promaster ProSafe FS60 Amp Galvanic Isolator in their new boats?
2. Where is it installed in the new boats - suspect in the starboard compartment below the shore ties? Does anyone have a picture of the installation they can share?
3. Can I obtain the Promaster from Ranger Tugs Parts?

Appreciate the help!

Mike: we have an R29S, 2018. It did not come with a galvanic isolator but I did purchase a Promariner online and installed. I do not recall the model number but it’s the one made for our 2 30 amp outlets. I’ll be at the boat tomorrow and can get the exact model number for you, PM me your email or cell number and I’ll respond back to you with the specifics. I installed mine in the starboard side cockpit tall locker. I can also take a photo and send it to you in an email, if you’d like.

Also install it as close as possible to the shore power.
