It would be helpful if you could post a photo or two showing the brown/gray/black stains. I say this as these marks may have nothing to do with moisture and/or mildew. It could be that some diesel soot residue is creeping in from the engine bay into the cabin and V-berth.
When I had my 2010 R-25 (Classic) I had black streaks coming in from the hull sides of the V-berth's aft bulkheads. These bulkheads were covered with white monkey fur so cleaning the black smudges was not easily done. I ended up removing the bulkhead panels on either side (they are split down the middle and held together with tape on their backsides) by folding them in two after removing the screws. I then took them to the RT Kent factory where they were kind enough to recover them with the smooth perforated vinyl. When I re-installed the bulkhead panels I also placed a sealant between their edges and the hull side. This did resolve the issue of having black smudges which I had determined came from the engine bay's burnt diesel fuel residues that inevitable circulate in that area.
