Taking delivery of a new boat in a few weeks. I am an airline pilot and am trying to come up with an aviation related name. Here is a list, let me know what you think and if you have any other ones to add to the list.

Jet Lag
Knot on Call
Final Approach
Altitude Adjustment
Knot Flyin’
Crash Pad
Flying’ Low
Pilot Lounge
First Class
Flight Risk
Float Plane
Too Low Terrain
Scud Runner
Positive Space
Winging it

Thanks,
Scott

Winglet
Laminar Flow ....(nerdy)
Sea Level
Sea Plane

My vote is winglet. .... sounds cool

Something ominous about "Final Approach" for those among us of a certain age.
I nearly called mine "Locum Ocean" but - it's better reserved for a physician.
Aeronautic? Aeronautical?

I asked AI and this was its list

Here are some aeronautically themed names for a boat owned by a pilot:

1. Final Approach
2. Ground Effect
3. Jetstream
4. Tailwind
5. Crosswind Cruiser
6. Runway Runner
7. Wingtip
8. Airborne Escape
9. Cockpit Cruiser
10. Altitude Adjustment
11. Lift Off
12. Skipper’s Flight
13. The Hangar Bay
14. Nautical Glide
15. Fly Bridge

Let me know if you’d like more ideas or specific variations!

Are you trying to communicate to the wider boating community that you are a pilot? Or are you trying to use a name that will be be understood by other pilots, but not necessarily other boaters?

We almost went with Upgrade but went another route.

Command Sea (or C, autopilot joke)
Fur Low (we have dog hair)
Premium (if you’re alaska)
Green Slip (Delta)
Turning Two (Boeing)
Line up and weight
Day turn
Redeye
Shortback
Airspeed low, feet.

None of them are perfect but they might send you down a different path. I really liked command sea but it wasn’t quite obvious enough for the non aviator and would look pretty bad if we bunched it up on the rocks. Good luck and let us know what you land on!

Personally l like Altitude Adjustment. It speaks to the past in the air and current and future at sea level while being a play on Attitude Adjustment, which is also kinda fun.

Lots of good suggestions, but what ever you choose make sure it can be easily understood on the radio .
