Hello,
We’ve narrowed down our soon to be new Ranger Tugs to a newer model R25 or R27. From what we understand, the differences the R27 have over the R25, except for price of course, includes:
- 300 HP vs 250 HP
- Larger fuel, fresh water and black water capacity
- Larger head, but the same size berth
- xHD RADAR included as well as autopilot (option on R25)
- A propane two burner stove with oven
- Cockpit table and optional cockpit fridge
- Bow seating
- Optional dinghy lift
Is there anything else we are missing? If anyone has experience with both the newer model R25 and R27 please do share your views on the pros and cons of each. We are leaning towards the R25 as there is more 30’ moorage available in our marina, and my insurance will also be a bit less as its LOA falls within my “experience range” and the R27 is just over. There is of course the added purchase price as well.
Also, I assume maintenance costs between the two are roughly the same, but if anyone has info to share on this issue it would be very welcome.
Thanks so much,
Kori
