Just curious if anyone has installed one of these on an R27OB? The videos and testimonials on their website look very compelling. We love our bow thruster but there are days when it’s really windy that it’s nearly impossible to get into our slip solo. Any help, advice or council appreciated.

We have bow and stern thrusters and they are a wonderful aid if you have any current or wind issues in your marina or where you go. I might recommend you have it done in a yard unless you are really handy ... I looked at mine and I guess I could have done it but I am not real rapt about taking the jigsaw to the hull but it just depends on if you can pull yours out on trailer etc.... but well worth the money (and spoils you rotten😀).

These appear to attach to the outboard engine without any need for a thru-hull. Interesting. I wonder how it interacts with using the engine to move the boat sideways. For example, if the engine is in forward gear and then turned so as to push the stern to starboard, the thruster would be pointing somewhat aft. Activating the thruster to increase the stern movement to starboard would perhaps also counteract some of the outboards forward push since the thruster would be pointing somewhat aft? This could be a good thing. MIght take some practice to see how it actually responds in different positions.

The videos show boaters doing that, both docking and then doing 360’s. It does attach to the plate on the OB so no drilling or cutting. I feel like preventing one unfortunate bash into a corner of a dock would pay for it.

Thank you.
