Hello,
When cruising with the outboard running and the lithium battery pack, how long should we expect the air-conditioning to last before it shuts off due to a lack of sufficient power?

We have a 2023 R25 SC with the Lithium battery pack option.

Thanks
Steff

You looking at about 6 hours without any input and everything off. I would not recommend running the lithium batteries to below 50%.

Hi Jared,
Thanks for the reply. As I interpret this answer, the outboard motors charging system should not be expected to meet the needs of the air conditioner. Am I correct in this conclusion?

Should the outboard charging system be able to support the refrigerator along with the controls at the helm?

Does the outboard charging system also charge the lithium battery pack?

The reason for my questions is that we are unable to run the air-conditioner for more then 30Min unless hooked to shore power, regardless of the fact that we are underway with the outboard running.

My recollection is that the voltmeter for the engine shows about 14 volts.

Thanks

The engine will not be able to keep the batteries charged while running the AC. As the AC draws 70-80 amps and the engine may put 1/4 of the power needed. Yes the engine charges the batteries while it is running. It can support the helm and fridge, but I wouldn’t rely on it. We have built boats that are only dock side AC only and do not have lithium batteries. Could you send me a picture of your batteries?

Hi Jared,
Attached is a picture of the batteries.

Am I correct that the battery charger needs to be in the off position when the inverter is in the on position?

HI Jared,
What are your thoughts after looking at the pictures of the batteries?

Thanks
