I have read a variety of online reviews and AI generated information. Can forum owners please help me with real life mpg with the factory Yamaha 300.
I routinely travel 80 miles one way to an island to fish and there are no services there. I need a minimum cruise speed of 25 mph but would prefer to cruise at 30 mph.
I need a full load of fuel..full load of water to make the 160 mile round trip, plus a reserve and gallons for trolling. Any information would be greatly appreciated
many thanks rich

My C24 gets around 1.8 fairly loaded and 2 plus when fuel gets down to 30 gallons give or take.

With our Solara S250 Coupe, We always get around 250 miles per full 116 gallon tank and cruise at 30 mph with 2 persons on board.

We get about the same with the S250CW. A tank lasts over 250 if we back off the throttle a bit and go about 35MPH. Could go 300 if we optimize.

My wife and I were out today and with 40 gallons of fuel and half a tank of fresh water traveling at 4200 rpm and 30-31 mph we were getting 2.288 mpg. We have a four blade prop but at that rpm I believe we would be traveling faster by a couple miles per hour and same fuel consumption with factory 3 blade prop.

We fish hard with ours, full fuel ice Bait, food 3 passengers, 1.7 @28 mph,
Our runs are 80/90 round trip,

Cruising only our trips are 130 round trip , (Gulf Chop) its ,1.5 mpg @ 24/25 mph.
When conditions allow 30 mph it does get better.the steps start to work and increase lift,These hulls aren’t efficient at lower speeds and are noisy in a chop, can be wet, and hit hard, thus the slower speed and the decrease in Efficiency, However, in a cross sea real good , following sea real good.
It’s the head sea that will loosen your fillings.so far 230 hrs of service some of it rough seems to be steady fuel efficiency hasn’t changed.
Hope that helps, give you a fisherman’s perspective.

1.5 is the real number loaded ,
These rigs are not efficient at 24/26,mph, the steps dont help until 30 + mph.
we have over 200 hrs of service on our 2024, mostly long runs fishing, with weekend extended cruising mixed in, always fully loaded.
If it’s calm you can get some efficiency, but rough forget it.
It will fall well below average.
I have had it as low as 1.2 on tough days, all are over 80 miles round trip.
This is real time data from a fisherman. Not calm sea short run info. This should help plan for those trips. By the way where is this on the pacific?
We’re on the gulf coast Florida.
