2018 RT 27.... looking like I inadvertently overfilled the holding tank...(In this year there was not a level gauge on the holding tank)... I noticed about a quart or two of black water in the bilge at the far aft end....got it cleaned up but there was still a very slow drain into the bilge from somewhere forward... definitely black water...had the tank pumped and the guy who did it said about 35 to 40 gallons was pumped... tank now empty and nothing draining into the bilge...all good...
Question.... assuming it's an overfilled black tank where would it be leaking from?? I would have thought it would back up into the toilet or vent line?? Not into the bilge...

I have a 2017 R29 and I have filled my black water tank with a hose thru the pump out cap. Water back flowed into toilet. Never had black water in bilge. My guess is you have a leak in a closed system. Mine has factory red / yellow / green led lights on my toilet switch for levels. Many boats have issues with these lights. Mine never turns red. Goes from green to yellow at 40%. That may vary between boats, depending where gauge wire is stuck on tank. I verified mine is 40%.

I would think you have a leak. Check under the sink around the macerator connections. If it leaks there, it'll run down into the bilge.

A full tank should either show in the toilet, over overflow out the vent, or both. As others suggest, you have a leak, probably a loose hose clamp would be the first thing I would look for. I installed a SCAD digital meter to monitor my tank, it shows the level of material at each 1/16th level and accurately. IMG_5263.jpeg
