Replaced all three pumps last fall. Noticed this weekend that the middle pump has failed. The 2 minute intermittent light flickers, but no pump. Turning it on manually also results in no pump action.

Now, this is odd.

What electrical gremlins should I look for? Its improbable that this new pump has already aged out or faulted....

Ah bilge pumps. My favorite gremlin. First check if you are getting voltage at the pump. Yellow should be ground and brown blue (depends on your schematic) is the always on auto. Should be voltage across these always. The yellow black should show voltage when the manual override is on. If not, then start back tracking wiring and fuses until you find issue. With neither working it is most likely a ground wire failed, so check your voltage across the hots to another working ground. Also can try jumpering from a known hot like battery to the pump and if that doesn't solve the pump is likely at fault. Under warranty if you just replaced.

On the way home, it occurred to me that some of the strange electrical gremlins may be related to the fact I cooked the house batteries, and haven't replaced them yet.

I installed a new Rule... the "auto" feature (every 2 mins check) stopped working. The Manual override did work however... Google this condition, you will note that Rule has/had an issue with the internal computer. Rule sent a new one for free... now I have to install it. Jcat2010 thanks for your post.

Twice now, my 27sa pod pump would not work in auto mode. Everything seemed to check out, there was no light on the pump switch so I changed the switch; that didn't work so I changed the pump; that didn't work so I had a more electrical savvy friend check my wiring (see below) that fixed the issue...you would think I would have learned from the first time, but, when the pump switch light was out, that seemed like the culprit. The pod is clearly a terrible place for this type of pump, it's like a washing machine in there.
