Has anyone been able to mount a Starlink mini on one of the roof racks with good reception success? Our boat is a C28. Any recommendations for a preferred mounting device?

Does mounting on the roof next to the mast count? And yes it gets very good reception

Rear rack next to mast, no issues, great reception, Gulf Islands.

Another approach would be to use the suction cup mount and case from Veritas Vans. They’re meant to attach and drive down highways and then to be carried like a small briefcase. Might provide a more mobile solution. I went that route instead of hard mounting and I’ll put it on the cover of the electric grill. Haven’t tried it yet but it’s a quality piece of kit.

While waiting for me to mount the mini, my wife just plugged it in and set it across from the helm by the windshield. Works fine and we can use it for other things. I put all the stuff I bought for mounting in a cabinet in our boathouse.

This is a mount from amazon that we used to put in a rocket launcher. It also has a fixed attachment if desired. We take it down when underway. We also wired a new cable to a scotty male plug which can power it from the downrigger plug. It works great and takes 30 seconds to set up.

Consider on top of radar dome using Starlink's RV mount. We hardwired to a 12-36V DC-DC step-up converter for excellent results. Works well underway and tested recently in full gale conditions on Florida's ICW with winds and seas off the starboard bow. Radar does not interfere with wifi and vice versa.

I mounted a Starlink mini on the roof just behind the mast. Seems to work fine. RT27

Actually, I only mounted it once. Dk how the other two go on there
