Considering this for my boat since you can now get the New starlink mini system subscription for 50 dollars a month for 100 gig. Any one have a good location for the mini antenna mount location? Inside or out side? Hard mount or temporary and just place it somewhere out of the way??

We use the Starlink mini, mounted with a sea sucker suction mount on the port side of the upper helm powered with a 12v adapter. The canvas helm cover still fits over the Starlink protecting it from weather and visually hiding it.

I’m having one installed on my new R 27 and my installer showed me the attached (that they did on a R 31) that we are going to use.

This is ours: I replaced the stock ACCY. panel switch with the branded Starlink model just because it's cool. The other switch would have worked just as well...

We have a starlink mini and wonder if the $50/100gb is sufficient to do online work, watch Netflix, and get weather like Windy? Or do we need the unlimited data for $150/month

I turn on Starlink for a few months each year. That $50/mo plan is available for the Gen2 and Gen3 Starlink terminals as well (Standard Actuated, and Standard non-actuated (kick-stand) Starlink terminals.

Last season it was $50 for 50gbs, and $1/gig thereafter. I went over by 99 gb, and paid $149 for the month, which is still less expensive than the unlimited plan.
This year, Starlink revised their plan to $50/mo for 100gbs.

Starlink is getting less expensive for me and that's plenty of data for me to work from boat.

I run the Standard with actuator Starlink dish. (Gen2).

I'll talk about this more in my upcoming video about my cell antenna/Starlink upgrade.

Here's some tips:
1) On the TV, I added a ROKU for Internet streaming. I set the ROKU to 720p resolution. On a 19" TV, visually, the difference between 720 and 1080 isn't much. More bandwidth for detail you probably couldn't see. So I lock it at 720p to stream less data.
2) On all my devices that connect to the boat WIFI... phones, tablets, laptop... I enable "Low Data Mode" on the WIFI SSID. This stops automatic app updates, background syncing with the cloud for photos taken, etc... Saves bandwidth. This has to be done on each device (only once) when connected to the boat WIFI.

100gb is a lot. I work from the boat a lot. Most I've done in a month was 149 gb.

I'd say it depends on how often you are on the boat and using your starlink. every day or just a handful of days? The starlink app does report your usage statistics so you can track it there - good data source for understanding your usage. Since december, I've been able to stay under 100GB each month with weekend boat use and a few mid week work days. In November, I used 111GB. I have done nothing to limit bandwidth on devices.
