Hello all, I'm a new owner of a 2023 R27 and wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced smelling gasoline while sleeping on the boat? When all the hatches and windows are open I can't detect any smell but once everything is closed up I can smell gas while sleeping in the back of the boat on the converted table and underneath in the storage area. No idea where it might be coming from but perhaps someone else has had the same problem? Thank you

Thank you, I'll start there and see what I can find. Can't bring my family onboard until I figure this one out.

Also my Propane fume sensor for the stove can also detect battery gasses and, exhaust fumes and gasoline—maybe check to make sure it’s functioning after you locate the source of the fuel smell

Check that your fuel filter is tight in the center lazarette. We had one on our previous r27 there was no liquid leaking but could smell fuel. Tightened and probably solved.

If it WAS gas, I'd expect that gas detector to be screaming.

My daughter sets it off by using too much hand sanitizer (!!). I set it off using an MRE heating packet on the transom.

This is one reason why I have a gas vapor detector in the bilge. It's quiet unless im testing it. So, no, you shouldn't ever smell gas unless you are fueling

On my new to me R23 outboard if had a slight gas smell all the time and then I filled up the tank completely and the smell got worse. Investigation revealed that the gasket on the fuel level sensor was leaking. Couldn’t replace it with a full tank because the tank tilts aft and fuel would pour out. So I gooped around the seal with fuel and oil resistant gasket goop and it’s stopped the leak until I can do a proper repair. It also stopped the smell I’d had since getting the boat.

Which vapor detector did you buy? Thanks MH
