Looking for suggestions on attaching a bridle to the rope part of the rode?
 
I use a Mantus Snubber Pendant (soft shackle closure variant) to attach line or chain rode to the bridle. Cow hitch to bridle, and cow hitch to chain or prusik knot to line as others have mentioned. Saves me from having to bust out the seizing wire and riggers pliers every time I need to switch from anchor to mooring ball tackle.
 
We second NorthernFocus: A Rolling Hitch seems to be the best application. You're able to use bitter end of the actual bridle, easy to tie with one hand (in the dark on a plunging deck), and the biggest benefit is that once the strain is off the hitch, untying is possible (like the magic of a bowline knot).

i just use a rolling hitch using a dockline. works great
