Gsd22. No power light where’s the fuse?

Turning on garmin 5212. No sonar found. Event log has sonar sensor lost error. Nothing changed in the garmin config but wondering if I blew a fuse somewhere?
Looks like no power to gsd22 under the dash. I don’t see led on unit. (Have done all the usual power reset troubleshooting

I can’t seem to find the fuse for either the garmin or gsd22

Does the gsd22 get its power from the garmin 5212 or a separate feed?
Is there an inline fuse buried in the cable mess?

Help please!?
 
GSD22 has a dedicated power cable and should have a dedicated fuse or circuit breaker.
 
Any idea where?
 
does anyone have a GSD24 installed on a cutwater? curious whether it fits in the space under the throttle in the cave
 
I replaced my factory GSD22 with a GSD24 a few years ago. No issues fitting it in roughly the same place, though it certainly is a larger unit, and my vessel is a C30 so I can't speak for the mounting space in the C28.
 
My 2014 C30S has the GSD22 under the throttle and is accessible from the cave. Remove the panel on the right side where it is crammed up with a lot of wiring.
 
Yeah, the GSD24 is going to be tight on a C28. My issue right now is that apparently there is an inline fuse on the power line for the GSD22. I have yet to locate it in the area under the throttle area. Unclear if this is a power/fuse issue or the GSD22 is dead. (no led's)

Spoke with Garmin yesterday. - With the notch at 12 o'clock, apparently the power feed on the 7-pin cable is at 1 p.m. and 3pm. If I can see 14v there, I will know if it's the GSD or a power issue.
 
Solved. It was a fuse. Lol. Classic.

Troubleshooting 10x longer because the factory did not label any of the nav equipment on the fuse block and the fuse looks fine but it is blown.

With the factory P79 transducer, there's really no performance enhancement. However I added a much higher performance in-hull transducer next to it and it's a massive improvement. The transducer I put in is an Airmar M422 which is rated at 1.5kW and has an extremely narrow 5° high frequency beam angle which is fantastic for rock fishing and pinpointing structure, along with a low frequency beam that's only 18° compared to the 45° that the P79 has, so it's actually able to locate structure at much deeper depths all the way down to 2000'.

Resolution at all depths is easily 4-6x better.

First and foremost is making sure the cup itself isn't leaking fluid from underneath the flange bonded to the hull... Twist and pull to remove the transducer from the cup, then fill the cup almost all the way full and make sure the surrounding area is dry. Leave it alone for a day or a week and recheck the fluid level. As long as it's not changed then you can move onto the transducer side of things, but if lower then the flange either needs additional sealant or to be removed and replaced or reinstalled (depending on how intact it is after removal).

On the transducer side it's very important that the o-ring is both intact and lubricated, no crushed/pinched/sliced areas. Also good to check the bottom ring that the o-ring sits against to make sure it hasn't cracked from the screws being installed too tightly. I've also seen failures from the bottom ring being twisted onto the cup, then the transducer and o-ring being screwed down to it which puts the o-ring in the wrong place. If all looks good, then completely slather the o-ring and the bottom ring with petroleum gel and put the o-ring back into place. Remove the fluid from the cup and fill it with 2.5-3oz of non toxic propylene glycol and gently place the transducer assembly into the cup and gently push/twist it till it's locked into place and the top is sitting perfectly flat.

I typically bond the transducer cup flange to the hull with West systems G-Flex epoxy and have never had an issue. You can even tint the epoxy black with pigment if desired as it also helps a bit with visibility since it's normally quite clear.
 
yeah i dont have a leak from the cup. its all from the o ring when the boat hits waves

i wonder if Im missing an o ring or its installed incorrectly.
