Aft bilge pump died. How difficult is it to replace? Hire someone or do it yourself? Just checking.
Thanks in advance.

Do it yourself. I use the same modle so I can leave the base in place. The hose unscrews and I only have to splice wires. (that is the case for my rule pump)

SKing is right, however, if your 6'4" 220 like me, it's a yoga session to get in there. I layed on top of the engine, pointed a strong light into the deep part of the bilge under the shaft, then was able to wiggle the pump out of the housing. Once out, it's pretty simple, but getting down in there, not as simple. Just be prepared for some inhuman bending!

Thanks. Exactly my situation as I’m 6”3 220 and not exactly the rubberband man. Do you remember the pump model no?

I moved up to the 1000 GPH cartridge and same float switch, they just snap right into the old casing.
