Automatic Fire Supression System for R-31 S

A friend had an engine fire last weekend. This got me thinking about adding an automatic supression system to the engine compartment to my 2025 R-31 S. I understand the new R-29s have such a system. What is the brand, and component part numbers, used on the factory system?

The brand is Fireboy. The required part numbers are:

• E-4209-08
• ES-3000-01
• MA20075227-BL

You'll need all three parts to complete the system.

How is the ES Shutdown System connected to the engine?

It connects on the starboard side of the engine and looks very similar to the wiring for the center cockpit hatch lifting strut.

The harness tees off and runs to the dash switch, then to the cockpit switch, and finally to the control box located inside the center cockpit hatch.

The installation itself isn't difficult—the most time-consuming part is routing the wiring. In addition to the harness, you'll need to run power and ground wires. There is also a cable that runs to the fire extinguisher inside the center cockpit hatch for the manual pull handle.
