Updating software in 7610xsv chart plotter

Got an update on a card from Garmin. There are 2 slots, slot 1, on the left, has a card in it..Do I take it out and put the update card in the left slot or do some thing else?

The card that’s in there is your Active Captain card. If you take it out, it will ask to make the other one your Active Captain card. That will make it download all the charts again, which is annoying. You can leave that one in, insert the new card in the other slot, and update from there.

I verified with a Garmin tech that I did get the software updated because it shows the version now loaded is 20.40, the latest according to him. Thanks!
