RESOLVED
Our force 10 oven would not ignite our broiler would work. The burners both worked so propane was not an issue. There is definitely sparks down there for the ignition. It just felt like there was no gas making it to the oven burner. 2023R 27. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thank you.

While you may have done this, one needs to turn the oven knob while holding it in while igniting the spark. Once lit, keep the knob pressed it for a few seconds.

Any lighting problems I have experienced with lighting the oven on our Force 10 has been due to my not holding in the knob full enough or long enough.

I also use a separate spark device. On our 2023 R27, the Force 10 has worked well. However, I don’t expect the battery for the internal sparked to last much longer.

The battery is fairly easy to replace. It is a AA if I remember correctly. I accessed mine by removing the bottom panel.

Previously, I’ve been able to get the oven started and I’m familiar with the holding the knob down tried varying time frames for several minutes trying to get it to start. Someone else had mentioned replacing the battery simple enough. I’ll try it do that today.

Another challenge I always faced was holding the knob down long enough for burner to heat up sufficiently. However, I seemed to learned!

On our prior boat, replacing the Force 10 battery was an exercise in gymnastics. The battery on the that unit was in the lower right back which not easy to access without removing the oven.

That issue was an earlier thread, so I’ll not star again. Hopefully, your battery is easy to get to.

While I use a rechargeable spark device, the “finickiness” of the Force 10 has ceased to be an issue for us. We have also found it to be surprisingly economical on propane usage.

The spark starter mechanism was too close to the burner creating a very small spark. It would light via a lighter so I bent the thin wire that sparks away from the burner an 1/16 of an inch away and it works great now. Produces a much larger spark. Thanks for all who offered help.

NICE! What a great find and solution. As some could say, “ you’re cooking with gas now!”
