In 5 short months I have been fortunate enough to add 50 hours to the D6 putting me at the 100 hr service mark.

In addition to what is in the Volvo D6 manual, what else do you recommend I have the mechanic do during this service period?

I also have a cummings generator that I have not used much. I will be doing non-engine related maintenance next month but wanted to tackle all things needed and preventative in the engine compartment while I'm paying the techs to be on-site.

Thanks!!

I would have all of your Zincs checked and the oil changed on the gen-set depending on your hours. Check all of your hose clamps to make sure they have not worked loose from expansion and contraction.
Just a through once over of your 30 Cutwater is a good recommendation

Service went well. Oil change took forever on d6 so we used the time to replace some clamps, used silicone spray on metal parts to protect from corrosion, cleaned up the contacts on ground wires that had corrosion, cleaned the copper sea strainers, and basically just did a lot of cleaning. You can easily get around the 30 engine compartment without getting any grease/dirt/dust on you.

Also had oil sent in for analysis per the manual and bonus: provisioned tools and I have an extra belt on order so that I can do emergency work while underway if need be.

Only thing I don't have a good feel for is through hull fittings seem to have some decent corrosion on them. I plan on pulling the boat out next month for some upgrades/maintenance/running gear check so will address then.

Note to others: even with low hours on your new boats check/replace your impellers. Mine blew up in my generator with only 50hrs probably due to non use. Was a pain to replace but now I'm going to do it annually.
