I discovered a 110 weather protected outlet box (it has a spring loaded door with foam on the inside to prevent water from getting into the outlet) mounted to the bulkhead inside the cockpit cabinet that houses the cooler. Inside is a 110 GFI outlet all wired up. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get power to it. I'm on shore power and A/C Main is on. All of my other A/C outlets are working. I hit the test and reset buttons on the outlet. I checked the GFI panel under the stove and it was fine. Any thoughts on what I need to do to get power to this outlet?

Thanks,

I have a similar 110 outlet, although mine is located just below the cockpit cooler. I found that the breaker for it is on the 1110 panel but was not specifically labeled. I don’t recall if there was no label at all, or if it was simply labeled “accessory.”

Plug something into the mystery outlet and try each of the 110 breakers...

Oops. I forgot to mention I tried that as well. No luck. Thanks for the reply.

Hmm. Can you trace the wiring? Puzzling!

If that outlet is fed off another GFI outlet that has tripped then that outlet would not have power if it was wired without the feed line being "pigtailed" from the feed outlet. Any GFI outlets in the head that may have tripped? Did you test for voltage at the wires, perhaps a bad plug also.
(I am not an electrician, just relating from my own learning experiences with GFI outlets.)

You could have a bum outlet. Start working backwards. Remove the outlet and use a volt meter and touch the silver with black and brass color with red and see if you are getting 110V, if you have power it is the outlet. If you have no power then you need to trace the wire back to the 110v panel. Maybe it was never connected. There is a tracer device you can purchase, something like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...-50a4-5f19-ae33-9408ab96b97e&pf_rd_i=14244461

Thanks everyone for the great advice! I should be able to track this down now.

Are you referring to the wine "cooler" or the fridge? I too have 2017 C28 and have never seen this outlet.

Thanks,
Gary

I'm referring to the cabinet that holds the Colemn ice chest. I purchased the boat slightly used and the previous owner must have had the outlet installed. I do not think this is a standard outlet on all 2017 C28's.

This is just a thought! If someone else wired it they may have taken power from a different circuit. If you have electric microwave/ convection oven and electric stove there are two receptacle boxes behind the Micro one for micro one for electric stove top. They may have tied into them. There is actually duplex receptacle behind the Micro that the Micro plugs into and the other is empty. Trace the wiring or turn the micro breaker on then try the stove. I would not tie into another circuit like that but someone may have.

Well... It turned out to be a bad GFCI outlet. That was easy!
