House batteries getting to the end of their useful life, time to replace. Any opinions/recommendations for switching to 6v AGM golf cart batteries?

I looked into doing so several years ago. There was no weight, space, cost savings so didn't bother with it. But if it pencils out for you it's easily done.

I looked at this briefly to, for the size of our battery banks, 6V doesn't make much sense. The benefits become apparent when you're in the >1000Ah bank size.

Also, I think most of the market is spending time and energy on Lithium, where the weight savings are so large by that switch that the small benefit of dual 6Vs doesn't make sense. I can't even find any large format 6V lithium batteries. They all just come in 12V (or higher)

When my battery charger died a few years ago I installed a Victron Ip22 battery charger. When I did that I replaced all my batteries with Crown flooded; 12 v for engine, 12 v for thrusters, 2 6 v golf cart batteries in series. The golf cart batteries are easily rated for 1200 cycles DOD 50%. Most manufacturers leave out the number of cycles for their batteries.

Thanks guys, appreciate your feedback. Lithium is great but very expensive, 4 stock AGM batteries cost less than 1 Lithium same size. Hopefully, lithium batteries will be more affordable soon.
