Just bought the R-25 about a month ago and she was running good on few outings. I went to start her yesterday and upon turning the key she will not crank and I get 3 error codes... 1. NullReferenceException 2. SIM NO J1939 DATA 3. SmartStart Aborted. Battery's are charged and good. Any suggestions? Thanks, Todd

Todd,
There are many threads on the hard starting Cummins QSD diesel. Bad ground is the easiest to fix and is the most common problem. Another problem is with the electronic ECM components on the engine.

A search for “starting Cummins” will give you lots of info.
Here’s one thread to get you started.

Did you try starting with all the battery switches turned on?
How old are the batteries?
I would load test the batteries.

Thank you for the replies and helpful hints. We got her cranking and she starts again. The town had shut the electric down when she was plugged in which must have caused the main breaker in the engine compartment to trip. Upon resetting this we still were not getting her to crank probably due to the error codes remaining in the computer. As we were pulling fuses to check them (all were good) we must have pulled one to the computer which cleared out the error codes and she turned over. Note: She needs a new battery for next season, its not a strong crank. Glad I read the thread and your responses, it will help me next season when starting!! Thanks, Todd
