2011 r29 knob

Does any one know what this knob is for? It turns back and forth. It does click in and out. But we cannot figure out what it is for. I have put a picture of it in my photos.

I suggest contacting the factory.
They should have the correct info.

We have a knob like that above the table to dim the light over the table. It looks like a balance for speakers.. I would remove the two screws and see if possibly you can identify if speaker wires or DC voltage.

If it is on the table side it is the dimmer.

It is on the teak column behind the captains seat.

Is there also one on the column by the dinette? There should be a dimmer for the hanging light over the table. If there isn't one on that side, maybe the one on the helm side dims the dinette light.

That is the new, improved variable-response Passenger Panic Knob; it replaces the old-style Panic Button. There should be a placard beneath it with the instructions: "In Case of Emergency, Turn This Knob. If Nothing Happens, Wait 60 Minutes and then Repeat As Needed."

Before returning yours to regular service, make sure that nothing is connected to the back side of the knob.
