Does anyone know the specs on the shift control in the 2012 R25SC with the Yanmar engine? I am trying to find out how to tighten it up as it’s very loose and easy to change with the slightest bump.

Thanks!

Take the cover off. There is a screw you can tighten that will increase friction so it won’t move so easily.

SeaStar Solutions now owns Teleflex, which manufactured these mechanical engine control units.

I have a 2010 R25 SC, however, don't know the exact model number of my throttle control. If you can find a model number, I would download the installation manual, as this will provide further details and parts breakdown diagram that might aid in your adjustments.

Here's what I found based on models CH 1700/7500/7600:

FRICTION ADJUST SCREW.

Adjustment of this screw enables the friction in the throttle operating mechanism to be increased and prevent unwanted handle movement. To adjust, place the lever in the forward or reverse throttle position (just beyond the shift position). Remove the cover and adjust the friction adjust screw: turning the screw clockwise increases the friction.
Do not over-tighten.

Thanks, found the set screw and snugged it up. Seems to be much better now.
