Recently took delivery of my new R29. Although the Ranger Tug website indicates that a DVD/CD player is standard equipment, my boat came with a Fusion CD600 (which is CD only). I think I should have had the Fusion AV600 which is DVD and CD. In addition, the cockpit speakers go on and off intermittently (connections are frankly poor) and one of the speakers in the cabin and one in the V-berth do not work. I would appreciate some solutions these questions. Thank you Gary Means, Docky's Dream

Our cockpit speakers shut off intermitantly as well. have checked the wiring and have found no bad connections. Its both of them that shut off at the same time. Seems to happen at lower volumes which is kind of strange. We also get a weird humming noise from th ecockpit speakers when the radio is off and the shore power 2 is switched on.

The specs for the R29 say:
"Stereo, Fusion AM/FM CD Player/MP3"
"Entertainment ctr, Master stateroom dvd, cd, 22” TV"
Does the TV have a built in DVD player?

I would say if something does not work properly on a NEW boat, the dealer should get it fixed. I know my dealer was very responsive to my issues.

On Wolf Pack (2011 R29), the Fusion CD600 came as standard equipment.
Both TV's (v-berth and salon) came with built-in DVD players.

I also echo the above suggestion to contact your dealer regarding the speaker connections.

Thanks for the comments. The Tv's do come with DVD players built in to each tv. I haven't heard of cockpit speakers working intermittently but it sure sounds like they need to be fixed. Could you elaborate on your opinion about our connections and why they are poor? We are on the Desolation Sound cruise with spotty internet connections so please don't hesitate to call me directly with any questions in the meantime. I believe you have my cell phone number but just in case, its 253-230-0727.

PS: I also echo the comment about contacting us about the connections. We want to get them fixed for you.

Feel free to contact me at the shop as well. I know the cell service isn't the best on the cruise, however I will be at the shop while the rest of the guys are up North. The number here is (253) 839-5213 or you can always try my cell (206) 239-8132.

feel free to contact me as well I will be in the cutwater facility and would be glad to help with your issue. Shop phone number 360-794-5353 or my cell 425-220-3932

To address the situation with the cockpit speakers, when we had the Fusion system installed on Karma, we had the same issue as others, the cockpit speakers would drop off and then come back on at low volume. It is not an issue with the connections, it is an issue with the amp. The amp needs to be tuned once it is installed. It appears that the factory is currently not doing this. Once I tuned Karma's, it worked fine.

The Fusion system is so impressive that we chose to have the 700 series installed on Destiny. Waypoint Marine in Seattle did all of the installation work including tuning all THREE of the amps on the system. The only issue we have now is, when we crank it up, the sub woofer rattles the wine glasses in the cupboard.....

Is there a printed procedure for tuning the amp? Ours does just as yours did. Cuts out at low volume. As for my humming issue while off, I am still poking around with that

Maybe Destiny should stick some of those felt pads on the bowls of his wine glasses...........

All, Thanks for your input. Re: DVD/CD. Didn't know the DVD's were played by inserting into a slot on the side of the TV's. All is well there. Re: speakers-sounds like I am not the only one with similar situation. At this point only 3 of 6 speakers on the boat work. The one in the cockpit which does work cuts out intermittently. My son (who is knowledgeable) removed the cockpit speakers and commented that the male/female connections were "poor" meaning they were rather loose fitting one inside the other which obviously is not good on a moving vehicle. Unfortunately that is not the problem here, nor part of the solution. I will be contacting my dealer to discuss the amperage issue. Thanks, Gary on Docky's Dream
