Where is the reservoir for the trim tab and engine lift located? One of my tabs is all the way down, the other is up and neither move. The engine hatch won't open. I can hear the pump work so suspect it's low on fluid.

I have a 2016 C28 and my pump is located under the rear cockpit seat and storage compartment. You'll have to remove the rear seat and storage compartment to access it. I believe my pump is on the starboard side. Good luck!

That is correct, it is under the rear seat. You have inspection plates that you can remove and see it.

Thank you,

I cannot find this reservoir on my 2013 C28 looking through the inspection plates. My hatch only lifts about half way up under power, so I assume it is low on fluid.

Can you give any additional help as to where I should look. Port, starboard, forward, aft, high, low or something to follow?
If seat removal is needed, any advice on that?

Good Morning,
The pump is located on the stbd side of the stringer in the aft well.
To remove the seat there are 3 fasteners holding the lower cushion in, remove those and remove the lower seat cushion, then remove the other cushion, the 2 swivel bolts hold the seat in place remove these and the seat come off, next there are 3 or 4 fasteners holding the lid. Remove the lid. There are 4 fasteners on the tub and remove. This will give you access to the entire transom area.
please feel free to call me if you need more help

Thanks Ronnie.
Final check before I start removing the seat.
With the seat removed I should then see a reservoir near the pump that I can add pump fluid to if it is low?

My problem is that the hydraulic lift for the engine hatch only raises about half way. My guess is that this would most likely be caused by a low fluid level.

If any of this is incorrect, I would (again) appreciate your pointing it out.

And it was a great meeting you and touring the Cutwater factory a few weeks back. Greatly appreciate all the help.

Ronnie.........What type of hydraulic fluid should be used. Seems like there is a lot to choose from out there.
My steering fluid was low this past summer and per Ralf,(Cutwater) and Garmin I used SeaStar HA5430H which was compatible with OE already in the system. OK to us the same fluid in the tab/hatch reservoir?

Thanks, and HAPPY NEWYEAR!
