I own a 2014 C28. I'm hoping someone has experience retorqueing the serpentine belt. Anyone know of any tricks?

I replaced the belt when I had the engine out. It's easy to do there. Now, after some time the belt has stretched a little and has started to squeal. Reading a previous post, I read where a panel could be removed to provide access but, in my boat, there is no such panel. I hoping to hear from someone who has experience. There's very little room forward of the engine - engine to bulkhead.

Hi Jon,

Admitted that it's a little cumbersome, but the best way to get access to the engine would be on the port side and then moving forward around the front. There is access on the starboard, but it is a bit more limited. We haven't built these boats in a while, but if memory serves, you should be able to unscrew the lower aft panel in the quarter berth for more access to that area. Hope this helps a bit.

Cheers,

Ralf
