2014 - R31S shower bilge will not turn off

The forward shower bilge pump sounds like it is stuck on. What and where would I look for switch or fuses to shut off bilge pump? Thank You

You should have a fuse diagram on the boat to indication what fuse goes to the bilge pump, if not give the factory or dealer a call. If it is stuck and running you may need to get into the bilge, if it has the same bilge pumps as our prior 2012 R27, and release the catch so you can lift the pump from the housing to clean any debris from inside the housing. Also before that take a rag and wipe the front of the pump with a rag to clean any gunk, grease or sludge from the sensor depressions. When the sensors are covered in grime it interrupts normal operation of the bilge pump.

There should be a fuse behind the helm, in one of the fuse blocks. On my 2011 R29 all the wires are marked for what they supply just pull the corresponding fuse... If you don't want to fix it right away just put the fuse in every time you have a shower 🙂 ..

I have a 2009 R25 and had the same problem. THe fuse fir the sump pump is btwn the batteries and the generator. It is marked.

Once you find the fuse you may want to consider a different setup. The shower bilge pumps seem to be a common issue with getting stuck. Besides getting stuck then there is the issue of killing the batteries if the boat is unattended and not on shore power. I took the easy route. I left the pump stuck on and installed a spring loaded rocker switch that will always be pushed off. When showering we push the switch intermittently to drain the water. When shower is complete we push the switch to pump out ant residual water. This is a common set up in sailboats. I never worry about a stuck bilge anymore. If a miracle occurs and it un-sticks, then I will still be able to use my rocker switch to pump.
The work around was easy and completed in 25 minutes on my R-27. I cut the power line to the switch before it entered the pump box. Installed the switch wire and put switch centered above the louvered door and below the sink.

Mike always has the more elegant solution.

When this happened I located the fuse in the fuse block behind the helm. Pulled it and put it back in and the problem was "fixed" for about a month. Eventually I had to replace the float switch That took care of it.
