At the Boat show in Toronto I saw the new Ranger 2015 in the Ranger Grey color. (Mine is still at the dealer under factory wrap). Several posts have already talked about the cockpit table and Volvo engine but they also made one new and expensive change. They modified the cabin mold to relocate the roof drain to the side of the cabin. The cabin roof no longer drains into the cockpit! Once again the Ranger Team needs to be congratulated for taking the time and the cost to make this change. Only continues to confirm that Ranger Tug is the company to go to. Truly a wonderful family to belong to.

That's a great move. Cleaned my cockpit area a couple of days ago. Water draining into the cockpit diluted the antifreeze in the bilge, so I'll need to re-winterize the bilge again. And, the water draining from the top of the cabin ran down the back side of the cabin leaving it dirty. With that change, water running down the sides of the cabin might dry more quickly leaving less mold/crud to accumulate during the winter months when use of the boat and cleaning is less frequent,

Now, if they'd address the compromise that serves as the First Mate's seat, the boat would be nearly perfect 😀

I would like to see them change the long, narrow cushions in the V-berth, especially the one on the port side. That area typically clogs up with gear, dogs, clothes, bags, stuff, etc., that makes it very difficult to access the under-cushion storage area.

Here's my suggestion: Create an individual cushion at the farthest-aft end of the port-side V-berth cushion. Have a little piece of fabric attached to it so you could easily pull that cushion out and use that storage area. Something quick and easy to use would be very helpful on a boat that clearly doesn't have much storage area.

I made this change to the Red Ranger and am glad that I did. In the spirit of full disclosure, this idea is not mine. I got it from John Verde of White Rock, B.C., who made that change to his boat. I saw it, like it and stole it! 🙂 So credit for the idea is John's and I think it has real merit.

AGREED!!! This is the one big change I have not done to my 21 yet.
