The 4th annual Chesapeake Bay Pocket Yacht Knot was an overwhelming success. The Haven Harbor Marina located in Rock Hall, MD recently welcomed an armada of Ranger Tugs, Cutwaters and C-Dories. Thirty one total boats arrived at the marina on Friday June 6 and departed on the morning of June 8, 2015. This year’s theme was “Pirates of the Chesapeake” and the weekend’s events included educational seminars on diesel engines, the importance of waxing your boats and covering a wide variety of safety items while boating. The Ranger Tug factory sent two Cutwater representatives (Mark Mansfield and Ronnie Gonzales)to answer any questions and address any issues, a local rum distillery, Black Water Distilling, provided some rum tasting and an education on the process of producing rum. Saturday evening capped off the weekend’s events with a best dressed pirate and wench along with the best decorated boat along with a delicious catered dinner and Sunday morning breakfast by The Kitchen at the Imperial. Many thanks to Haven Harbor Marina’s staff for an incredible weekend with special thanks to the Dock master, Hal Hopkins (voted #3 for best dock master of the northern Chesapeake Bay by Chesapeake Bay Magazine, dtd June 2015), along with his dock hands, for great customer service and making each boat owner feel welcomed and comfortable.

Next year’s rendezvous’ location has not been established yet, but the tentative date will be June 10-12, 2016. The theme, however, has been established, it’s Mardi Gras on the Chesapeake, so laissez les bons temps rouler! (let the good times roll!). 😀
