The Portland Christmas ships set a record last night -- 40 decorated boats came out for the parade. It was pretty spectacular. Two Ranger Tugs were in the parade, ours, and another RT 27, Ody Sea. Here's a pic of ours at the dock after the parade.

If possible at some point, I will link to a video -- to show how the Sea Monster's fire breathes in and out, and the tail wags.

Again, nice, nice job Gini & Colleen! That took a lot of creativity to make it look so great.

Please tell Mike & Chris on Ody Sea hello for us.

Stu and Sue,

Will do! I"ll see Mike tomorrow night. Hope you and Sue and the dogs are all well.

That's a great job! We are in Buffalo visiting family. Wish we could have seen Echo in person.

The first night out for the parade was great. Now, though, warm rain -- lots and lots of it -- is inundating Portland and causing major flooding. That, in turn, will load the Willamette River up with snags, limbs, and other debris. It will play havoc with the parade outings until things improve. You aren't missing anything at this point, Lenny!

Here's a short video of Echo during last night's Portland Christmas Ships parade on the Willamette River. We had a dry night, which made for a good photo and video opportunity. Tonight, the rains return (sigh).

Hope this helps inspire those who are thinking they would like to do something like this, but haven't yet given it a try. Even in this record setting month of rain for Oregon (we are approaching an all time record high), the parade nights have been a great experience.
