2015 R21EC - location of your house and starting battery?

Just pulled out my batteries today as the solar panel/controller I have on the boat house isn't keeping the batteries topped up, due to the lower amount of sunshine lately. Anyway, when I pulled the batteries, I started to wonder if the 'starting' battery and the 'deep discharge' battery were mixed up during installation.

I am assuming that the starting battery (higher cca) is on the port side of the boat and the house battery (deep discharge) is on the starboard side.

That is correct. But I wouldn't ASSUME it is actually so. Actually trace the cables and see if the "start" battery is connected to the the starter motor on the engine, etc. While you're there, tighten the battery and buss nuts.

I will recheck today, but yes, when I looked at the starter cable routing earlier this season, i believe it ran to the port side battery. Thats why i was scratching my head yesterday, when i pulled the batteries, seeing the port side battery was the deep discharge one...

Just rechecked the wiring on our 'new' 2015. The solenoid/starter cable runs to one side of the key switch by the engine. The other side of the key switch did in fact run to the deep cycle battery - which was on the port side. :?
