Alumni Cruise – June 23rd - 26th, 2016, Dock Street Marina, Thea Foss Waterway, Tacoma, WA

We are happy to announce that we will be organizing and sponsoring a new event called the Tugnuts Alumni Cruise in June. The Alumni Cruise will be at Dock Street Marina in Tacoma, WA and is open to all past, present, and future Ranger Tugs & Cutwater Boats owners. The event is set for the weekend of June 23rd-26th, 2015.

The original name of this event was the Tugnuts Mini-Cruise. We would like to thank the creators of the Mini Cruise and all of the owners who have worked hard over the years to make it the fun gathering that it is today. We are excited to step in and help with the event.

Registration for this event is not open yet but we have reserved the entire marina and will post further details in this thread shortly. Space is limited and reservation priority will be given to attendees of last year’s Tacoma Mini-Cruise. If you attended last year's Tacoma Mini-Cruise you will see an email with an invitation to register soon. Each boat will pay for their own moorage but there will be no additional charge to attend the Tugnuts Alumni Cruise.

We will be bringing factory support personnel as usual and are looking forward to connecting with our extended family!

Hi Sam-
That is convenient, as it is our home dock!

Great Idea.

How about setting up a conference call bridge or video conference for those of us who can't make it out there?

Is there an update to this? I missed last year, but can make it this year. I sent Sam a PM but it's gone unnoticed.

Hi

We want to go to Tugnuts Alumni Cruse.
Please put our names down.

Hi Sam. We would like to go on the alumni cruise this year if there is space available. We have a new boat and are the previous owners of a 2013 R31. Please let us know if we can join in the fun.

Thank you.

AWESOME!!! Thank you Sam! I've never been so excited to go to Tacoma!

hahaha! Dock Street is the best though, I love that place! The only thing that is missing from down there is a grocery store which can be a pain but last year the Dock Street crew even ran to the store a few times for people

Did I mention Sunday newspaper delivered to the boat bright and early? Love Dock Street!

We're really looking forward to it also.

Sam

Wouldn't miss this one! Last year I was still limping around on my one-week post-op knee and got the "disabled" slip close to the bridge. No need for my fellow boaters sympathy this year. Really looking forward to this event.

Hi everyone,

There are about 20 boats signed up so far so there should still be some standard slips available. If Now that we have the new Cutwater site launched I'm looking forward to finish putting together the details for this event!

I'll post an official schedule of events soon but in the meantime, Tacoma Glassblowing Studio is offering a $10 discount to Alumni Cruise Attendees who register for one of their awesome glassblowing classes on Thursday, June 23rd. The only catch is that you have to contact them and make your reservation by next Friday, May 6th. The class itself is about an hour and you get to take home the piece that you create (24 hours later so it can cool)! You can make a christmas ornament, bird feeder, hummingbird feeder, stuffed floats, all kinds of stuff. Very cool, check out their website here: Tacoma Glassblowing Studio - Glassblowing Experience. Here are some fun videos also.

To make your reservation at the Glassblowing Studio please call the glassblowing studio at 253-948-9699 and tell them that you are with the Tugnuts Alumni Cruise group reserving for Thursday, June 23rd. The $10 discount is only available if you make your reservation by Friday, May 6th.

I'll be back with full details very soon!

Thanks,

Sam

Are there any nearby hotels for those of us who typically stay ashore overnight? As in we own an R21 classic.

There are a few nice hotels actually. I've stayed here several times over the past few years and have always had a pleasant experience. It's a 10-15 minute walk from the dock.

All,

We have our reservations with the marina, and are looking forward to the gathering!
