We have never used the shower (no jokes please) but the pump came on spontaneously this evening. Pulled the fuse so we could sleep. Anything specific I should look for tomorrow?

If the shower pump turned on for a moment it may have had water in the shower sump from the marine air unit. The condensation drips into the pan under the the compressor and then drains into the sump. When the water level gets high enough the pump turns on. This may have happened. Once it pumps the level down it should shut off.

The exact same thing happened to me. The float switch is shot. You need a new one.

I don't know the layout that well on the 29, the hardest part replacing the switch on the 25 was getting the2 screws off the plastic lid of the sump box itself. And of course contourting your body to reach it over the lip to the bathroom.

Hello,

The sump pump is located at the foot of the vberth bed under the floor. There is a pop out panel just in front of the head door. If your boat has AC it does have the drip pan drain hose like discussed earlier, you can see the water level through the top off the sump pump box. The float is a black box located next to the pump, clean the side of it that has the two circles, then recheck by installing the fuse then testing the float by pushing and holding a finger on each circle at the same time, the pump should then turn on and stay on until you release your fingers. If the pump continues to run after cleaning without testing the float funcution then most likely the float is bad. Hope this helps.

Thank you,
Kevin Lamont

We had only used our boat 2 times, never used the shower, don't have AC. I turned on the battery switch and the pump came on and wouldn't shut off. Boat happened to be at dealer at the time. They diagnosed it as a bad switch and swapped out the entire pump.

Same issue on my 2018 R27. Will try the fix suggested later today but it started doing this 2 weeks after delivery so I keep fuse out unless I need to drain water.

Thanks to all of you for your help. Quick responses and good data. We had been using the AC so there's the source of the water to get the unit running. Will have a look at the pump unit itself when we return to port. Replacing the fuse turns the unit back on so I'm guessing the switch is shot.
