2018 R23 solar controller location

Hoping somebody from the factory can confirm the location of the solar controller in a 2018 R23. The owner's manual says it is in the 'lazarette' (doesnt indicate which one) but I have searched high and low in all three and cant find it. I saw another user say that it was behind the AC panel (near where the solar monitor/display is located in the 1/4 berth) but would like to know for sure before I open it all up.

Good morning. I feel your frustration. I posted this same issue about a year ago for my 2018 R-23. I’ve sent pictures of the inside of the port lazaret to a factory representative, received numerous reply’s from other tugnutters, opened up every location I can get to and even used a fiber optic scope to try and trace the cable from the remote display to wherever the solar panel controller is located ALL to no avail. So if you do find out the location of the solar panel controller I would be most appreciative if you let me know. Just so you know. As far as I can tell the remote display shows the solar panels are working properly but I still want to locate the controller. Good hunting!

There aren’t a lot of places it could be. If you don’t have an inverter, it could be in that spot. that would be behind the electrical panel. Relatively easy access.

I have an inverter, and it (the inverter) is in the port lazarette. Guess I will have to start removing stuff to see what I can find.

I’ve looked there and I don’t have an inverter. The remote panel display is mounted to the electrical panel and I can see the cable that runs from the remote display to wherever the main controller is. The cable leads port and disappears. Even with the fiber optic scope I can’t follow it far enough to see where the main controller could be mounted. In all honesty I haven’t removed the entire electrical panel due to the difficulties but I have removed the section with the House, Engine and Emergency Parallel switches. That’s how I was able to view the cable running port from the remote display. I’ve put this issue on the back burner for now since the remote display shows the panels are working but I just like to find things and one day I’m going to figure it out.

I misspoke (mistyped) when I said this ^^^. I do have an inverter and that inverter is *behind the power panel in the cave*, not in the port lazarette (the battery charger is in the port lazarette). It is behind the wood panel to the port side of the solar monitor display.

Also, I did some spelunking and found my solar controller. It is also behind the wood power panel, but even farther to port (all the way next to the hull). It is tucked up in there so it is hard to take a picture (and I dont know how I will access/remove it), but just knowing where it is is the first step.
