2018 RT 31 cb engine hatch locks

Hi all,

I am curious why the cockpit engine has two hatch locks that swivel and yet on the underside there are no latch levers. The two locks serve no purpose. Was something forgotten during manufacture or is it something else? Thanks for your comments.

You have the hydraulic lift I assume. Likely wouldn’t want to hydraulically open it if the latches were locked. I have used the latches to tie off to, when I replaced my cylinder, to hold it open. Also I imagine that one might tie off to them to open the hatch manually.

They are there to raise the hatch if you have a hydraulic failure.
