The Raw water discharge from our AC system has been trickling for quite a while. I've read on line that Barnacle Buster is a good product to "de-gunk" the system. Is there a way to flush the system without cutting in a tee? I'd rather not alter the factory hoses. Also, is Barnacle Buster the only way to do it? I will also post this in the general forum to read of others successful methods. Thank you in advance.
Thank you,
Domenick

Well, I found a soft rubber coupling that fits a hunk of pvc pipe about 18 inches tall. And it also fits over the top of the sea strainer (with the help of a hose clamp). (Not a hermetic seal but pretty good.)

Then I can turn on the A/C and pour the barnacle buster in. I have no idea what the volume of the A/C condenser might be. I use the same set-up to winterize the A/C with AF. I think a half gallon usually starts putting "pink" out the discharge. I think that is what did this past fall. Let it sit for an hour or so as I remember. ( My first try at barnacle busting. )

Anyway, that is a pretty good way to load stuff into the A/C system.
Not pretty or neat, but is seems to work.

Domenick,

Yes Barnacle Buster is a great product to use and is recommended for maintenance. Hope this helps.

Thanks,
