Hey ya'll, first time Tugnuts poster here!

Yamaha 250 has under 50 hours on it, technician declared it valid for warranty transfer.

The windless does not operate the gypsy when either the up or down switches are manipulated either on the deck or at the helm. The solenoids/relays are activating as I can clearly hear them. Cycled the circuit breaker in the head several times to no benefit. The Thruster works well so I know that thruster switch and battery are passing current.

The latch for the port side cabin window has detached but I found elsewhere on the forum what adhesive to use and how.

Galvanic isolator - I don't know if this vessel has one - where on the 24's is it located from the factory?

On the swim deck and cockpit there are little curtesy lights. They appear to be the same units, however, the cockpit lights have two lit blue LEDs and the deck has one lit blue LED. Is this by design?

That's all for now and thanks for your reply.

My 2018 C242 has four blue lights. Two on the transom and two next to the steps to go around the cockpit. The other lights I believe are for trailering with a factory trailer. Mine did not come with Galvanic isolator and my Windless had to be replaced within one year under warranty. I have not had any problems with the windless since.

Regarding the windlass not working, but the solenoids are firing: I had the same problem and found a poor wiring connection in the anchor locker was the problem. There are two butt connectors in the anchor locker where the windlass wiring connects to the wire from the circuit breaker. In our boat, these connections appeared OK, but when a bit of a tug was made on the connector, one wire came loose. Your boat is so new that the problem is less likely to be your windlass motor. Check out the anchor locker wiring before spending money on other options.

We had a problem with the windlass on our R23 which exhibited the exact same symptoms you describe. It turns out that water had made it into the windlass and rusted the mechanism inside even though it was only 3 years old. I replaced it with a new one (same model) and the new one works fine. It was about a month out of warranty - yours is probably within warranty.

The blue courtesy lights are easy to swap and you can order them from the parts department. I’ve done 6 of them now… 🙂

Many thanks for the responses.

Sale Pending - 1 step closer, monies have been transferred!

The seller adjusted the sales price per my request due to the lack of a Galvanic Isolator, the inoperative Anchor Windless, and the surveyor's suggestion that I move the battery charger from a wet environment to a dry environment. I'm hopeful my technical and mechanical abilities will allow me do most of, if not all the work. I'm pretty much of a self learner when it comes to having resources like this forum and YouTube.
