Does anyone know how the base plate for the radar mast is attached to the top of the boat on a 2020 R27? My mast broke off and when I attempt to remove the screws holding the base plate down they just turn in place.

Yea. I’ve taken mine all apart. You have to remove the top cap to get to the bolts underneath. It’s a breakaway piece of fiberglass. If you ran under a low bridge it would rip apart the top cap and not your roof.

I’ve also since installed guy wires on my mast.

Start at time stamp 5:38. This shows how it’s all put together as I had to take it apart to find out where I could drill holes to install a clamshell on the starboard side.

Thanks for the info! One hour in rough seas and the whole thing came crashing down. Can’t believe how poorly it was constructed.

This happened to me on my 2021 in the first year. they covered it under warranty and a local shop welded solid rods on the inside of the mast tube to really reenforce it. I thought that it was a fluke that happened to my boat.
