Clearly not at all urgent but curious if others have this or if I have an anomaly on my hands. The recessed starboard transom cupholder has no drain and regularly fills with rainwater. This is the one between the transom door and the starboard cockpit wall and directly above the freshwater washdown hose. The other two cupholders on the transom on either side of the transom seat have a hole in the stainless steel bottom and drain accordingly. I did probe with a screwdriver to check whether there was a hole in the stainless but not in the rubber bottom but there is no drain there. My only thought on why it might have been that way by design is that there is no space to drain past the freshwater washdown plumbing. Otherwise, seems like a manufacturing oversight. If that's the case, easy enough to just drill a hole but wanted to check before I do.

On our 2021 C28 the cup holder at the rear helm station has a cup holder with the hole, the problem is the water drains into the cabinet below so I just connect a plastic hose and have it drain to the cockpit deck. Also the Volvo Penta gauge did not have proper sealant so water was leaking there as well, silicone it and now the cabinet is dry inside. My point is there are going to be things that have been missed at the factory, we actually had a fair number and the dealer is looking after it. Have fun

Hi Billy,

That cup holder was not intended to have a drain, as the drips can easily be caught in the bilge. However, you can easily add a hose if you wish like marob mentioned. You can add a hose that will drain into the bilge past the shower controls. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Ralf
