Here’s a video describing a dinghy rack I just made for my Ranger Tug outboard. Seems to work pretty well for us and is out of the way when we are fishing or crabbing. Best to all my fellow boaters. Phil ( “Joyful” in Bellingham WA)

Very nice installation

SWEET! I would do one thing different. Rather then tie the rack into the pole holder, I would drill through the pole holder and rack and put a trailer pin through the hole. Faster and more secure than the tie down.

Thank you all. And I like the trailer pin idea.

Hi. Nice design. Could you do a video of how you get the dinghy into the holder? I'd especially like to see how it works when you aren't at dock. Thanks, Scott

Hey Scott. Yes. I need to make that video. In the meantime, it’s pretty simple to describe. I run a line from the bow of the dinghy up over the rack and through the eye in the bow receiver of the rack and down to the deck on the port side. Then I pull the dinghy stern up against the starboard side of the Ranger Tug. Then I pull the line while lifting the dinghy until it flops over on the rack (easier with two people), then pull it into final position. I’m 70 years old but it’s still pretty easy to accomplish. May need to come up with something else when I’m 90. 🙂

Thanks. Now all I have to do is figure out where to get a rack like yours! 🙂

Curious, you mentioned one of your requirements was for it to be easy to deploy. How exactly do you get the dinghy up so high into the rack and how do you get it down again? GF
